Name: Ryan Ozubko
Character Name: Jackson
Shard: Hokuto
Ryan Ozubko was determined to become the consummate businessman in Ultima Online. If there was something you needed, chances were good “Jackson” could get it. It was how he got it that could be considered questionable. Whether he crafted the item, or looted it from another player’s fallen home, Ozubko always came through. But the businessman had an even darker secret: he was also the right-hand man for one of Hokuto’s most dangerous Player Killers.
Ozubko subscribed to the game in November 1998, shortly after the release of the game’s first expansion Ultima Online: The Second Age (also known as “T2A”). The expansion added a slew of new monsters and the cities of Papua and Delucia—known as the Lost Lands—to the existing world.
“I first read about Ultima Online in a magazine and then started to read more about it online,” Ozubko recalls. “When I went to go buy the game, the box really sold me on it. It was the T2A box. I still have it to this day.”
Soon, Ozubko teamed up with Hokuto’s most notorious Player Killer, Ryan “Evil M” Bruns.
“Jackson supplied everything,” Bruns said. “Potions, armor, weapons…he had grandmaster status on everything because he had multiple accounts. He was like the mafia of Ultima Online.”
